Happy Resurrection Sunday! I was reflecting on the fact that we talk about Good Friday, when Jesus was crucified, and we talk about the 3rd day, Sunday when Jesus was resurrected, but we don’t talk about the 2nd day much. Yet during that time is when Jesus descended into Hell, defeated Satan, took captivity captive and led them to freedom. On the outside it didn’t look like God was doing much, in reality tremendous things were happening! While Saturday seemed quiet and all seemed lost and defeated, in the spirit realm there was a lot of activity being done on our behalf. So even when it looks bad and looks like nothing is happening, God is always working. Remember Sunday is on the way!
Colossians 2:15 It tells us that Jesus stripped satan and his demons of power.
Colossians 2:15 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)15 [God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross].
Ephesians 4: 7-10 – Yet grace (God’s unmerited favor) was given to each of us individually [not indiscriminately, but in different ways] in proportion to the measure of Christ’s [rich and bounteous] gift.8 Therefore it is said, When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive [He led a train of [a]vanquished foes] and He bestowed gifts on men.9 [But He ascended?] Now what can this, He ascended, mean but that He had previously descended from [the heights of] heaven into [the depths], the lower parts of the earth?10 He Who descended is the [very] same as He Who also has ascended high above all the heavens, that He [His presence] might fill all things (the whole universe, from the lowest to the highest).
I suggest you read the end chapters of all of the Gospels that tell us about the crucification and the resurrection and read the first couple chapters of Acts. Such a blessing!!
Happy Resurrection!!!
